Christopher J. Schmank

Statistics Consultant and Instructor/Assistant Professor

Saint Louis University

Biography

Hello, my name is Christopher J. Schmank and I am currently the Statistics Consultant and an Instructor for the Department of Psychology at Saint Louis University. During the previous two semesters at Saint Louis University I taught ungergraduate courses in Cognitive Psychology (PSY 3120) and graduate courses in Applied Univariate Statistics (PSY 5790), Applied Multivariate Statistics (PSY 6500), and Psychometric Theory (PSY 5090).

My research interests include (1) the impact of regulating psychosocial stress on language production and general cognitive abilities, (2) the impact of regulating emotion on general cognitive abilities, and (3) the impact that healthy cognitive aging has on cognitive functioning under various conditions of psychosocial stress and/or emotional regulation. Additionally, while working with Dr. Andrew Conway, at Claremont Graduate University I focused on various statistical modeling techniques (e.g., latent variable modeling and psychometric network analysis) to use when exploring and/or confirming the underlying structure of measures of cognitive ability.

User Experience: Data Collection and Management
As a user experience researcher I have assisted several companies as a consultant. One avenue of research involved generating competitive analyses of related products or services. A second avenue of research involved conducting research to assess the overall user experience of an Augmented Reality education application.
